Helen Godbee Wilson, 77, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, GA.

She was born July 7, 1947, to Paul Godbee and Lois McGlohorn Wilson and grew up in Sardis, GA.

Helen worked as a seamstress at Thomson Company and Jockey International.  She owned and operated Wilson's Country Store. She also worked in the school cafeteria of Jenkins Co. High School where she enjoyed interacting with the students each day. She was a member of West Millen Baptist Church and attended the Ladies III Sunday School class.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents Paul Godbee and Lois McGlohorn Wilson; brother Milton Paul Godbee Sr.; and daughter-in-law Tina Miller Wilson.

Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years Joe Wilson Sr. of Millen; her daughter Jody Wilson Tabor (David) of Hahira, GA; son Joe Wilson Jr. of Millen; brother Ricky O. Godbee (Barbara) of Pooler, GA; step granddaughters Desiree Tabor Carter (Brian) of Atlanta, GA and Megan Tabor Weatherford (Joe) of Watkinsville, GA; great grandchildren Margot, Beau and Owen; sister-in-law Susan Dudley Myers of Millen, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at the church Wednesday morning.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 11:00 am at West Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Butch Taylor officiating. Burial will be at the Millen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Coker, Egan Coker, Dewayne Purvis and Terry Arthur.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to West Millen Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
