Obituary

Mr. Grady Marion Eastmead, 67, of Sardis, entered into rest Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Bethany Nursing Center of Millen.

He was born in Burke County October 22, 1944 to the late Rudolph and Mary Parkerson Eastmead. He was a lifelong resident of Sardis, a Sergeant in U. S. Army Field Artillary, veteran of the Viet Nam war, retired from Augusta News Print, and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister Louise Powell of Summertown.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at the Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Jenkins Family Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jane S. Eastmead; a son, Chris Eastmead of Sardis; 2 daughters, Cynthia (Randy) Eastmead and Cheryl (Thomas) Myers both of Sardis; a brother, James Eastmead of Waynesboro; 2 sisters, Grace Krome of Hephzibah and Jeanette (Earl) Coward of Newington; 9 grandchildren, Clarissa Eastmead, Fiona Eastmead, Ian Eastmead, Ciera Eastmead, Evan Eastmead, Dustin Eastmead, Madison Stevenson, Chelsea Myers, and Jacob Myers.

Active Pallbearers will be Earl Coward, James Coward, Jerry Johnson, Jack Johnson, Cleckley Reddick, Herbert Reddick, Tracy Walker, Bruce Walker, Danny Nelson and Mack Hillis.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Sardis Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
