George Willard Joyner, Sr., age 80, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Jenkins County, a retired fire fighter for the Augusta Fire Department and was a Deacon of the Green Fork Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 p. m. Wednesday, at the Green Fork Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Green Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Saxon Joyner; 3 daughters, Debra J. Johnson (Jimmy) of Sylvania, Lynn J. Brown (Ronnie) of Perkins, and Kathy Parker (Bobby) of Evans; 2 sons, George W. "Bubba" Joyner (Beth) of Beech Island, SC and Don Joyner (Chris) of Martinez; his sisters, Mildred Hargrove of Perkins and Betty Johnson of Guyton; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Active Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Green Fork Baptist Church and Augusta Firefighters.
