George Wacker Gunn Sr., age 87, entered into rest on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Jenkins County Medical Center. He was born on July 27, 1935 to John Glover Gunn and Marie Wacker Gunn in Millen, GA.

He was married to the late June Daniel Gunn for more than 50 years.

He was father to George Wacker Gunn, Jr. (Suzanne) of North Augusta, SC and Ellen Gunn Calvin of Columbia, TN. He was grandfather to Jennifer Gunn Bussey (Jeff), Jonathon Andrew Gunn, and Jackson Gunn Calvin (Autumn) and great grandfather to Evan James Bussey, Emma June Bussey and Levi Dirk Calvin.

Additional survivors include 3 siblings, Evelyn Gunn Young of Millen, Dudley Gunn of Wadley, and William Gunn of Millen.

George was a lifelong member of Millen Baptist Church, a Deacon, and member of Boch Sunday School Class.

He was a graduate of Jenkins County High School, a forester, owner of Gunn Wood Company, wood dealer for ITT Rayonier and Union Camp Corporation.

After retiring he devoted his time to raising cattle and the restoration of historic Perkins, GA.

He was an avid golfer and a charter member of Magnolia Country Club. He was devoted to his family and his faith. He never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 am at Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Asbury and Rev. Walter Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be David Gunn, Jeff Bussey, Robert Gunn, Jonathon Gunn, Jackson Calvin, and Will Bowers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Dwelle, Buddy Rabitsch, and members of the Boch Sunday School Class and 8 O'clock Coffee Club,
