Fred Williams, age 65, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital in Savannah.

He was born in Blackville, SC, retired from the City of Millen Public Works, and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Williams and Pearline Jackson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Poplar Spring Baptist Church with the Revs. John Durden and Butch Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Deep Creek Cemetery.

He is survived by his 3 sisters, Helen (Mark) Novitsky of Martinez, Bobbie Jean (William) Proveaux of Olar, SC, and Sarah Seebald of Portland, OR; 2 brothers, Randy Williams of Aiken, SC and Lewis (Elizabeth) Williams of Statesville, NC; caregivers, Bonnie, Billy, and Dexter Hendrix; and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Dexter Hendrix, David Ellison, Joe Brown, Stanley Brown, Joe Bowen, Cody Lane, Clay McCullough and Clay Boulineau.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Rabon Hutchinson, Baker Davis, John Fields, Joe Stuckey, Larry Fields, and Jesse Johnson.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen.
