Mrs. Essie Lee Nevils Owens, 83, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at her residence.

She was born in Barnwell County, SC, a retired care giver and member of Faith Christian Fellowship Church.

Mrs. Owens was also an Emeritus member of both the Sardis and Edith Cavelle Chapters Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lee Owens, eldest daughter, Lois V. Owens, sister, Annie L. Nevils, and brother, Barney Nevils.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm Thursday, January 3, 2019 with memorial service at 2:00 pm at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home with Eastern Star rites.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Carolyn Owens of Gracewood and Johnnie O. Griffin of Millen; a grandson, Chris Griffin (Holley) of Sardis; 3 great grandsons, Dylon, Dalton, and Dawson of Sardis; a brother, Fred C. Nevils of Brazil, IN; and many special friends.
