Mrs. Essie Hickman Bennett passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Bryan Rehab in Richmond Hill.

She was born in Screven County but lived most of her life in Jenkins County. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother and a loving inspiration to every life she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A. B. Bennett Jr, her parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Millen Cemetery with Rev. Rudine Becton officiating.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Barbara Kinsbury and Belinda (John) Kimker both of Savannah; 2 brothers, Andrew "Johnny" (Jackie) Hickman of Portal and Herman E. (Erma Nell) Hickman of Rocky Ford; 4 grandchildren, Teresa (John) Cowart-Purdy, Jim (Shannon) Comstock, Keith (Indy) Evans and Joseph Kimker; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
