Edsel "Ricky" McLeod, age 64, passed away on March 24, 2026. He was born on August 13,1961 and grew up in Augusta and Millen, Georgia. Later in life, he made his home in Midville, Georgia with his wife and two sons, where he formed lifelong friendships and strong ties within the community. He was the son of the late Edsel Hance McLeod and Betty Spires McLeod.

Ricky retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after many years of dedicated service. He found great joy in spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved fishing at the river, deer hunting, and participating in the annual dove hunts with those he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Edsel Ricky McLeod Jr.; sister, Lynn McLeod Johnson; and nephew, Derek McLeod.

He was a devoted husband to his wife, Pattie McLeod and was a proud father to his sons, Christopher Brandon McLeod and Edsel Ricky McLeod Jr. He was a loving grandfather to Natalie McLeod and Rowland McLeod of Louisville, River McLeod, Hance McLeod and Callie Ann McLeod of Millen. He is also survived by his brother, Keith (Connie) McLeod of Millen; and brother-in-law, Stacey (Jen) Bennett of Millen. He also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews including Amber "Jean" (TJ) Greenway of Midville; Brylie, Brodie, Brinlee, and Braelynn Greenway of Midville and Allen Bennett of Millen.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Millen Cemetery with the Reverend Butch Taylor and David Barron officiating. Visitation will take place following the service.

Pallbearers will be Ashley Mixon, David "Sonny" Alexander, Allen Bennett, Robert Deason, Denny Orr, and Denny Orr, Jr.

Ricky's nephew, Allen Bennett, will honor his memory by singing two special songs, "Lead Me Home" and "Thy Will Be Done."

Ricky will be remembered for his love of family, his friendships, and the simple joys he found in the outdoors and time spent together with loved ones.
