Douglas Macarthur "Mac" Jackson, age 81, died Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

He was born in Jenkins County, a retired truck driver for Jackie Lovett Trucking, and was a deacon and member of West Millen Baptist Church.

After his retirement he spent all his time fishing in the Ogeechee River.

He was preceded in death by his parents Grady and Ella Jackson; two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a. m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at West Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Elam Cemetery.

Survivors include his son, James Jackson (Kristian) of Waynesboro; 2 grandsons, James "Mark" Jackson, Levi Jackson; 3 granddaughters, Natalee Jackson, Kathryn Jackson, Josalyn Jackson; a sister, Lynn Davis and several nieces and nephews.

Active Pallbearers are James "Mark" Jackson, Kevin Calhoun, James Lariscy, Bradly Belk, Troy Quick, and Justin Bragg.

Honorary Pallbearers are drivers and employees of Lovett Trucking.
