Dorothy (Dot) Thompson, age 80, of Bloomingdale, Georgia passed away on July 14, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Jenkins County, Dot was an active member of Faulkville Baptist Church.  She was employed by Bellsouth as an operator and Memorial Medical Center in Savannah as a transcriptionist in the cancer department.  Dot was an avid seamstress and a lover of photos.  She especially loved her family.

She leaves behind her husband of almost 53 years, Bernard Thompson and her three sons, Grant (Annie) Ray, Joel (Sharon) Ray and Bernie (Jessica) Thompson; two sisters, Linda Sharpe (MC) of Girard and Martha Thompson (Ray) of Bloomingdale; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Ray, her parents, Robert and Lorene Reynolds and her brother Robert Earl Reynolds (Joann).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 19, 2024 at Green Fork Baptist Church with the Reverend Thomas (Chad) Vanderburg officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until time of service.  Burial will follow at Green Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Justin Ray, Cameron Ray, Noah Ray, Chandler Ray, Hunter Moore and David Ritter.
