Doris Becton Young, age 80, died Monday, June 13, 2016 at GRU in Augusta.
She was a native of Jenkins County, the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice Becton, having attended Jenkins County High School. Doris will be remembered for her love for music and singing. She was a member of Green Fork Baptist Church and attended West Millen Baptist Church.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, James, and Otis Becton, and two sisters, Minnie Bell Sherrod and Pearl Myers.
A Memorial Service will be held at West Millen Baptist Church at 11:00 am Wednesday. The Family will receive visitors from 10 til 11 before the service. Revs. Rudine Becton and Andy Allen will be officiating.
She is survived by one son, Danny Raye Becton (Charlotte); Grandchildren Loreal Manuel of Kentucky, Mark Becton, and Clayton Becton (Melanie) of Statesboro; several Great Grands; Sisters Jean Skinner of Sylvania and Ruth Williams of Statesboro; Brothers Rudolph, Johnny, and Rudine, all of Millen; and several nieces and nephews.
