Mr. Donald Wayne Mixon, passed away January 10, 2023 after an extended illness.

He was born in Jenkins County September 2, 1946 was a retired employee of the City of Millen, and attended Green Fork Baptist Church.

His past work history included his early years working in Augusta, and in Millen working for a local dairy farm, before working with the city.

You could see him riding in his truck almost every morning checking residences and shops in Millen and Jenkins County as a caring watchman of his community. He was presently residing at Pruitt Health Bethany here in Millen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Hampton Mixon and Ida James Mixon, brother, Earl Mixon of Wetumpka, AL, and sister, Sara Mixon Cook of Millen.

Survivors include his son, Herbert "Herbie" Mixon (Angela) of Augusta; sister, Margaret M. Johnson of Millen, grandchildren, Hanna and Faith Hines, Deshaun Crawford, Makayla Mixon, and Donovan Mixon of Augusta, and several nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony, with family, at the Jeffers Family Cemetery will be at a later date.
