Mr. Donald E. Godbee, 68, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at Optim Medical Center after a long illness.

He was born in Jenkins County, a dairy farmer, and a Baptist.
Don was a member of the Georgia Milk Producers Association and the American Jersey Cattle Association.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emory Godbee and brother, Thomas Godbee.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Dry Branch Baptist Church with Revs. Brad Boynton and Emory Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be John Cleve Newton, Perry Mitchell, Norman Wilson, Stephen Wilson, Junior Joyner, Glynn Bassett Jr., and Kenny Wallace.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Jenkins County High School Class of 1963.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Waters Godbee; 3 daughters, Kimberly Bennett, and Ashley Godbee both of Millen, and Hayley Greene of Statesboro; 2 sons, Wesley (Shana) Godbee of Millen and Craig (Susan) Godbee of Perry; 2 sisters, Jan (Ed) Wilson of Millen and Leigh Ann (Ken) Diffenderfer of Thousand Oaks, CA; his mother, Lottie Alice Godbee of Millen; and 10 grandchildren, Alisha Godbee, Sheridan Godbee, Meredith Greene, Grant Greene, Joshua Greene, Devan Godbee, Weston Godbee, Reagan Godbee, Judson Godbee, and Jaylee Bennett.

Memorials may be made to the Don Godbee FFA Scholarship Fund, c/o Southern Bank, Sardis, GA.
