Mr. Don Cowart, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 5, at Pruitt Bethany after an extended illness.

Don was born on September 14, 1942 to Traubie and Bennie Cowart in Waynesboro. He served in the Army National Guard, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a deacon of the Sardis Baptist Church, sat on the Sardis City Council and Police Commission for many years. He was the owner of Cowart TV Sales.

Don adored his family and showed it constantly, when he wasn't at the store one could usually find him fishing. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and his Boston Terrier, "Boss".

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Billy M. and Bennie M. Cowart.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Habersham United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Roy D. Cates officiating. Visitation will be after the service.

Survivors include his, wife of 49 years, Geneva Cowart; daughter, Wendy Davis (Gregory) of Sardis; granddaughter, Sydney E. Skinner and 3 great grandchildren; Drake, Skylar and Wryn; his sister, Alice Lynn Fennell of Sardis and several nieces and nephews.
