Daris June Carrier Sutton, age 90, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA.

Ms. Sutton was born in Bluff City, TN. She graduated from Bluff City High School and attended Carson Newman College.  She married Ronald Sutton in 1962 and together, they moved to Millen, GA in 1970.  She was a member of Millen Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Sutton, her parents, Harley and Stella Carrier, and her brother Harley Carrier, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Hodges (Rex) of Eastman, GA, son, Chester Sutton (Tracy) of Limestone, TN, sister Ellouise Jefferson (Jeff) of Franklin, TN, and brother Pete Carrier of Piney Flats, TN.

She was lovingly referred to as "Mama D" by her grandchildren: Dana Niblett (Travis) of Eastman, GA, Kari Blanton (Dewayne) of Hahira, GA, Chelsea Jackson, (Trenton) of Savannah, GA, Casey Sutton, (Kaylyn) of Newington, GA, Amanda Clark (Michael) of Rodenbach, Germany and Brittany Taylor (Daniel) of, several nieces and nephews and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, from 6-8 pm at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen, GA. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 5, at 10 am at Morning View Cemetery in Bluff City, TN.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home and Tetrick Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
