Christopher Yates Withers, 54, of Richmond, Missouri, passed away on June 23, 2025 after a private battle with his mental health.

He was born on February 11, 1971 in Lexington, Missouri and from a young age, he poured his energy into everything he was passionate about. He spent years racing professionally in motocross and supercross before retiring from that world and later finding his passion in cycling. His love for the sport never faded- he became a committed coach, guiding young athletes and fellow riders with knowledge, patience, and genuine care.

Yates was a father who cared deeply about being present. He loved movies, good food, spontaneous outings, and any excuse to laugh with his daughters, Inga and Elsa. He showed up whenever it mattered- at ceremonies, graduations, important appointments, or just to stand in quiet support. Those moments meant the world to him, and his love for his daughters was unwavering.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Withers; his daughters, Elsa Isabelle and Mary Inga Withers; the mother of his children, Laura Reeves; and his girlfriend, Tina Carter.

There will be no formal funeral or memorial services. Those who knew him are invited to remember him in their own way- through shared stories, favorite rides, quiet moments, or acts of care toward others who are struggling. His life was full, complex and deeply felt, and he will be remembered for the impact he had and the love he gave.
