Mrs. Carolyn Thorne Gay, age 80, of Garfield, died Monday, April 27, 2015 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

She was born May 19, 1934 in Emanuel County, lived most of her life in Jenkins County, was a retired seamstress for Jockey International and also attended Hebron Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Dewey Gay.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p. m. Thursday at the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church with elders Tommy Roundtree and Sam Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery.

Survivors include her two daughters, Elaine G. Cheney of Grovetown and Jo G. Crawford (Doug) of Martinez, a half sister, Nell Floyd of Hazelhurst; five grandchildren, Michael Cheney, Falon Cheney Chancellor (Paul), Roy Cheney Jr. (Kim), Daniel Crawford (Sarah) and Josh Crawford; great grandchildren, Ansley and Sydney Chancellor, and Roy Pate Cheney III.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephew.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
