Calvin E. Ward, 71, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Jenkins County, a U. S. Navy veteran, retired Director of the Ogeechee Mental Health, and member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Ward was a graduate of Waynesboro High School, Georgia Southern University, and had served aboard the SSN Narwhal SS671.
Graveside services will be Sunday at 2:00 p. m. at the Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro with Dee Humpheys, Greg Coursey and Rev. Andy Allen officiating.

Survivors include his son, Wade (Wendy) Ward of Millen; sister, Marcia (Mel) Middlebrooks of Gulf Shores, AL; a grandson, John Wesley Clary Ward; and his fiancée Beverly Logue of Waynesboro.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Cowart, C C Ward, Johnny Jenkins, Bud North, Tom Morgan, Jody Robertson, Dr. Lamar Murray and Greg Coursey.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. Saturday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
