Bobby Ray Hilderbrandt, 76, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. He was born on May 25, 1947 to the late Willie and Marguerite Hilderbrandt of Millen.

He was a 1966 graduate of Jenkins County High School, served in the U. S. Army Military Police from 1968 until 1970.

Bobby was a Jeweler by trade and owned and operated Hilderbrandt Jewelers for twenty years. He was an expert on repairing jewelry for his customers. He was a retired Firefighter for the Millen Fire Department after 33 years of service. He followed his dad's footsteps by raising Bees and making honey. He was a jack of all trades: he used a back hoe, track hoe, bulldozer, and his tractors doing work for others. He installed septic tanks, sprinkler systems and would fix anything that anyone asked him to do. In his spare time he loved fishing, hunting, and planting a garden. He was a Baptist.

He is preceded in death in addition to his parents, by his son, Bobby Hilderbrandt, Jr.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the Millen Cemetery with Rev. Perry Hearn and Marshall Brownlee officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sharon Doyle Hilderbrandt; and daughter, Shannon Hilderbrandt both of Millen; and a sister, Ruth H. Jones (Harold) of Gainesville.
