Obituary

Benjamin "Billy" Larry Allen, 81, of Millen, Georgia went home to see his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 19, 2025 after a brief but hard fought battle with CNS lymphoma.

Billy was born in Jenkins County on November 2, 1943. He retired from Georgia Power nuclear Plant Hatch as an instrument and controls tech and lived in Dublin, Georgia until the 90's where he worked for Clearview Westinghouse Cable TV.

Billy was also a devoted member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and his church family dearly. He was a devoted Christian man with a heart of gold willing to help anyone at anytime. Billy earned his pilots license at an early age and built his own airplane in his living room at the age of 24. He also had a love of tractors and bulldozers, "anything yellow" he used to say. Whenever he got a chance to use his tractors and bulldozers to help his family or neighbors, he jumped at the chance. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son Bill. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Miriam Newton Allen of Millen; father, Jermie Carter Allen of Portal; brothers, Jermie Carter Allen, Jr. "Sonny" of Millen, James Kenneth Allen "Kenny" of Wadley and nephew, Joey Allen of Midville.

Billy leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Sandra Carol Allen (Franklin); two children, Angie Kokotis (Gary) of Millen, Georgia and Bill Allen (Tiffany) of Dexter, Georgia; three grandchildren, Tiffany Rix (Tyler), Brent Chase Allen and Kacie Kokotis; two step grandchildren, Kaylin Baggett and Tanner Baggett; two great grandchildren, Blayke Rix and Colton Allen.

He is also survived by his sister Anne Morgan (Frank) of Atlanta; nephews, John Allen, Derek Morgan, James Kenneth Allen, Jr. (Autumn) and Holt Allen; and niece Melissa "Missy" Finn (Michael).

Pallbearers will be John Allen, Leonard Oglesby, David Oglesby, Mike Head, Donald Oglesby and Thurman Kent.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Deep Creek Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Butch Taylor officiating.
