Mr. Benjamin Phil Lanier, age 68, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at MCG Hospital from injuries received in an auto accident.

He was born February 29, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL to Ara Mae and Bruce Lanier. He has lived in Jenkins County for 66 years and was owner of Lanier Trucking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Bruce Phil Lanier, brother, Jeff Lanier, and a sister, Joann Ellis.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and his grandchildren.

He was truly loved and will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home with Rev. Moses Toole Jr. officiating.

Survivors include his 2 daughters, Aralyn Lanier (Jimmy) Coker of Millen and Michelle Lanier (Marvin) Heatter of Thomasville; 5 grandchildren, Samantha Aralyn Coker, James Egan Coker, and Macy Colleen Coker of Millen, and Kristen Michelle Heatter and Houston Verner Heatter of Thomasville; a sister, Virginia Hughes of Petersburg, VA and lifelong friend, Elly Motes.

Visitation will be held at the home of his daughter, Lyn Coker, 153 Annora Dr., Millen.
