Barry "Bobby" Lee Weatherford, age 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, March 8, 2024. Barry is survived by his children, Tanya Marion (Chris) and Bryan (Amanda) Weatherford, and his grandchild Savvy Marion. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Joel (Virginia) Weatherford, Wayne (Becky) Weatherford, Cindy Lynah, Jeni Riggs, Carroll (Theresa) Weatherford, Diane Gay Weatherford, Mike (Vicki) Weatherford, Kay (John) Davis.

Barry was born to J. B. Weatherford and Anne Mae Ellis in Augusta, GA on April 26, 1946. Known for his generosity and charm, Barry was loved by many. He was a devoted follower of Christ and a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he faithfully worshiped until his final days. Affectionately nicknamed "Cool Breeze" by his siblings, Barry always knew how to make everyone around him feel special.

Barry served as a Specialist in the US Army, as a combat engineer. He valiantly served from March 12, 1966, to March 7, 1972, during which he bravely fought in the Vietnam War. Barry was honored with several decorations and awards for his service, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, and two Army Overseas Service Bars. His commitment to his duty and his fellow soldiers was exemplary and commendable.

Beyond his military service, Barry was a talented horseman. Whether trail riding through the woods, barrel racing, showing western pleasure horses, or working on his farm, Barry's love of horses was a huge part of his life. Barry also had a passion for dogs. Throughout his life, he always had a well-behaved furry best friend.

Following his military career, Barry embarked on a successful career in sales until his well-deserved retirement, where he dedicated his days to the pursuits he cherished most, working on his farm and spending time with his children.

Barry's love for his family knew no bounds. He was a devoted father and grandfather, whose pride and joy for his children was known by everyone he met. His kind-hearted nature and generosity were a gift to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A true cowboy at heart, Barry's legacy and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. His family was his greatest treasure, and his memory will forever be cherished by his beloved children, granddaughter, siblings, nieces and nephews, and all those who were touched by his presence.

A memorial service to celebrate Barry's life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 536 GA-17, Midville, GA 30441.
