Obituary

Annie Catherine Garrett Fordham, 73, of Millen, GA, entered into eternal rest on July 17, 2026.  She was born on July 23, 1952 in Marietta, GA.

Cathy grew up in East Dublin, GA and worked as a beautician for more than 25 years in the Dublin area. She loved helping others and was known as a caregiver. She was a foster parent and fostered over 79 children over a 5 year period.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, watching old western shows including Gunsmoke and Bonanza and loved her dogs.

In her later years, she resided in Millen, GA and was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church.  She loved her family deeply and loved helping people as often as she could.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Junior Garrett; brother, Paul Garrett; sister, Deborah Jo Garrett Thigpin; a granddaughter, Aylah Aleecia Brewer; and grandson, Bradley Vahn Brewer.

Survivors include her mother, Emmalou Garrett; son, Donnie Thigpen of East Dublin; daughters, Cathy Futch (Larry) of Pembroke, GA and Brittany Fordham (Josh Renn) of Millen, GA; three grandchildren, Aylah Marie and Edward Alexander (Alex) of Millen, GA and Stephne Stanfield (Jerad) of Sioux Falls, SD; two great grandchildren, Troy and Ryan Stanfield and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Rosemary Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kelvin Foskey, Phil Garrett, Doyle Garrett, Ralph Garrett, Kenneth Garrett and Jerry Gravely.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, 1337 Canton Rd, STE D, Marietta, GA 30066 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center E #550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
