Mrs. Allene Attaway Hatfield, 91, of Irmo, SC went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 24, 2025.  She was born March 4, 1934 in Jenkins County, Georgia to the late Clara Derriso Johnson and William Johnson.

She began working for Southern Bell in 1953 and retired in 1990. She was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed her Sunday School and Joy Groups. She loved her friends, family and Jesus Christ and was a kind, faithful and generous mother, wife and friend.  She enjoyed gardening, singing, being with her family and friends and listening to gospel music.

She was predeceased by her husbands, R. P. Attaway, Jr. of Millen and Ancil Hatfield of Greenwood, SC.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Attaway Wetherell (Stan); son, Ronnie Attaway (Sharon); granddaughters, Casey Wetherell and Sarah Wetherell Jones (Ken) and great-granddaughter Emma DuRant.

The family expresses deep gratitude to the loving and caring staff at Jasmine Place of the Presbyterian Community.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Millen Cemetery with the Reverend Butch Taylor officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
