Agnes Cassels Hillis, age 84, died Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Hospice House in Savannah.
She was born in Grady County, was a registered nurse for over 60 years and retired from Jenkins County Hospital, and was a member of Elam Baptist Church.
She was also a member of the Magnolia Garden Club and various Bridge Clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Wycliffe Hillis Jr. and son, William Wycliffe "Bill" Hillis III.
Visitation will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Millen Baptist Church Social Hall until the hour of the funeral.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Saturday at the Millen Baptist Church with Dr. Maurice Crowder officiating. Burial to follow in the Millen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roy Hillis, Chris Hillis, Blake Hillis, Jake Burruss, Micah Baldwin, and Antonio Martinez.
Survivors include her daughter, June Hillis Burruss (Henry) of Wilmington Island; a son, Arnold Hillis (Tina Marie) of Millen; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Cowart Hillis of Millen; a sister, Evelyn Shaw (Keith) of Tallahassee, FL; sister-in-law, Joan Cassels of Cairo; 6 grandchildren, Blake Hillis, Brooke Hillis Baldwin (Micah), Jake Burruss, Erin Burruss, Roy Hillis, and Christopher Hillis.
